Fantastic Beasts 3: A character linked to Luna Lovegood?
Pending the release of the third installment of "Fantastic Beasts", a fan devised a theory linking one of the characters in the saga to Luna Lovegood, heroine of "Harry Potter".
Albus Dumbledore, Gellert Grindelwald, Minerva McGonagall, Nagini ... There are countless characters making the link between the Harry Potter sagas and Fantastic Beasts. But what if there were more? While Warner Bros. Studios just a year back from the release of Fantastic Beasts 3, fans are busy as best they can. On the Web, the theories on the continuation of the adventures of Norbert Dragonneau multiply. And if we are to believe the one that follows, the new saga of J.K. Rowling has not yet revealed all its links with Harry Potter ...
Luna's grandmother bunty?
On the community site Reddit, a surfer surnamed Miss_Readsalot, raised the idea that Bunty is actually the grandmother of a well-known Harry Potter character, Luna Lovegood.
« J.K. Rowling revealed a few years ago that Luna Lovegood married Norbert Dragonneau's grandson, Rolf. I was wondering how they got together. And now that I've seen Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, I'm sure Bunty is Luna's grandmother. It will make Lovegood and Dragonneau friends "Theorizes the Redditor.
As a reminder, Bunty is Norbert Dragonneau’s assistant. In The Crimes of Grindelwald, she appears in the cellar of the magizoologist taking care of the nifflors, kelpies and other botrucs of his boss. She also seems to have a certain attachment for the latter, who unfortunately does not share her feelings. One of the heroines in the Harry Potter saga is Luna. Harry met Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in 1995, sixty-eight before after The Crimes of Grindelwald. Sweet, lunar, Luna joins Dumbledore’s Army and gets closer to Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny and Neville. She fights the Death Eaters by their side in The Order of the Phoenix and The Deathly Hallows during the Battle of Hogwarts.
According to this theory, Bunty and Norbert stayed friends long enough for their children (whoever they were) to meet. The Lovegoods and the Dragonneaux would then have had a good relationship, and this is how Luna would have met Rolf, her future husband. In 2015, J.K. Rowling revealed that after the Battle of Hogwarts, Luna married the grandson of Norbert Dragonneau, who also happened to be a researcher of magical creatures.
Surprisingly, this theory could well prove to be true. In Grindelwald's Crimes, Bunty appears as a gentle and charming person, clumsy and a bit in the moon, which is not without evoking the character traits of Luna Lovegood. So could it be that Newt and his assistant are already writing the post-Harry Potter saga? We never know. With J.K. Rowling, anything can happen…
Fantastic Beasts 3 will hit theaters on November 12, 2021.
